Photo upload guide
Taking the perfect photo is super simple, just follow these simple steps:
- Setup so a light source is on the left, with the light on baby’s face from the top left of the face. Natural light from a window works best.
- Take your photo from top down onto baby’s face. Too high and there will be too much forehead. Too low and we will be looking up at baby’s nose and the angle is too low to edit.
- If all you can see is baby’s face on your phone’s screen, you’re too close! Lift the phone higher above the face, and get the shot with a little more space around. If the shot is too close, it can create a distortion in baby’s face, and won’t look very flattering. And we don’t want that, right?!

Top Tips
-
Natural light from a window works best as a light source. Not too sunny otherwise it will wash baby’s face. A light curtain or a cloudy day are ideal.
-
A black fabric behind baby’s head is ideal, but it’s fine if you don’t have anything you can use.
-
It’s important to have baby’s face straight, so if baby is too wiggly, feed and wait for sleep time, this is the perfect time to take a picture.
